Overview
G'day managers! My name is Dr Marcus Clarkson, and after close to 20 years of working with Australian businesses, I have seen how much things can change for the better when managers improve their emotional intelligence. This is the most comprehensive training for Brisbane area managers who are sick of outdated management theories and looking to become the type of leader your team truly respect and trust.
Looking back at the hundreds of businesses across Queensland that I've consulted with over the years, it's not the ones with the highest levels of technical knowledge or biggest marketing budgets that are the best at this. They are the ones who know that running people means above all running emotions, their own as well as their team's. This training provides those practical tools to be that manager.
The program tells a story using some real Brisbane workplace situations and includes evidence based emotional intelligence concepts. You'll explore through engaging workshops, case studies, and hands on exercises you can apply directly in your management practice each day.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this training, you will be able to:
Evaluate emotional dynamics on their team and intervene accordingly
Model self regulation strategies when stress is high and when conflict is present in the workplace
Use empathetic communication tactics in performance reviews, challenging conversations, team check ins
There are definitely people who could benefit from humour and entertainment, I don't think the issue is we need to just focus on facts and education and leave them in the wind, just maybe have some motivational approaches for different personality types, and emotional needs.
Build a culture of psychological safety, where sharing ideas and taking risks is encouraged in their team space
Likewise, the team's collective emotional state may become worse if the epidemic situation is not well managed and individual emotions are not identified and dealt with appropriately.

Concluding Remarks
The training that we deliver for Brisbane managers in emotional intelligence includes all of the core emotional intelligence skills in a format that is relevant to the people focused world of work that we now inhabit. Rather than theory, you will receive simple and effective tools that tackle the real issues you deal with on a daily basis, managing a diverse group of personalities, leading during an organisation wide change, while still keeping your team engaged and motivated.
Priority is given to application; you leave with things you can use on Monday. You will learn to manage natural conflicts, confront emotionally charged situations with grace, form deeper connections with your team members and, ultimately, create a workplace where people can't wait to put their shoulders to the wheel and do their best work.
And best of all, you'll find that improving your emotional intelligence is often not so much about changing who you are as becoming more of who you are... just with greater emotional intelligence! This training will change not only the way you manage, but your whole team operates and feels about coming to work every day.
